Anger

Anger is a vital emotion. We all get disappointed or annoyed at times. How else do we complain and protest in order to change things? Anger is something we can work with in counselling as a route to exploring our fears, anxieties and what limits our ability to having fulfilling relationships.

In our work together we can notice what happens physically and behaviourally when we get angry. In therapy we get to examine, free of judgement and retaliation, our triggers, knee-jerk reactions and assumptions surrounding anger. Often it is accompanied by the fear of damaging others or destroying relationships. Anger can be destructive but it is also an essential way to assertively communicate to others when we feel wronged, dismissed, hurt or afraid. There are always other emotions beneath anger and in therapy we have the opportunity to talk about these safely and constructively.
